Moses
Moses was Hebrew. The Bible, the Qur'an and Baha'i scripture, say he was a religious leader, law giver, and prophet to whom the authorship of the Torah is traditionally attributed. Also called
Moshe Rabbenu in Hebrew (מֹשֶׁה רַבֵּנוּ, Lit. "Moses our Teacher/Rabbi"), he is the most important prophet in Judaism. He is also an important prophet in Christianity and Islam, as well as a number of other faiths. Moses was born at a time when the ruling Egyptian Pharaoh had commanded that
all male children born of an Israelite in Egyptian captivity should be killed by drowning in the Nile. Moses' mother put her son in a hand basket of straw, which she let float down the Nile. When Pharaoh's daughter was out and she saw the basket with
the little boy in, and she took him. Moses grew up in the Pharaoh's court. As a young man he saw one
day how one of Pharaoh's soldiers abused an Israelite worker, and Moses became angry and struck the soldier to death. He helped to hide the body, but had to escape into the wilderness and live in hiding. Moses struck the Midianite Jethro and married his daughter Zipporah. Moses and Zipporah had two sons, Gershom and Eliezer. The Bible tells of how he and his brother Aaron, stood before the Pharaoh several times and asked the people to be allowed to go, but Pharaoh refused. Therefore God sent different plagues upon the Egyptians. Finally, he got an angel to kill the firstborn children of the Egyptians and the Israelites were allowed to go. But Pharaoh and his soldiers followed. When the miracle at the Red Sea took place, the water was divided and the Israelites could walk through. When Pharaoh and the army followed, the sea flowed over and drowned them. Then the Israelites were free.

Johannes the Baptist
He was the son of the Jewish priest Zacharias
and his wife Elisabeth. She was the Virgin Mary's relative, according to some traditions, they were cousins. It is said in the Bible that Mary visited Elizabeth while she was pregnant, and the child then jumped for joy in her stomach. In the Catholic Church, it is believed that Johannes was then freed from original sin, and thus born without guilt. Johannes the Baptist is also known as a cousin to Jesus Christ.
He baptized Jesus and the story of it is familiar in the Bible. The
Spirit of God came down in the form of a dove after Jesus was baptized.
King Herod Antipas had him beheaded at the request of his wife
Herodias, his half-brother's former wife. This was a Jewish view considered illegal, and Johannes
had condemned the marriage, which meant that she hated him. Johannes was kept in a place which was usually identified as the fortress Machaerus, fifteen kilometers east of the
Dead Sea. On Herod's birthday, Herodias danced with her daughter Salome and as
thanks for their display Herod said that she could wish for what she wanted. Salome went to her mother and asked what she could wish for, and Herodias told her to ask for Johannes's head on a platter. He was buried by his disciples in Sebaste in Samaria.

Jesus
We can read about Jesus in the four Gospels in the New Testament. He was born of the woman Mary. It is important, that it is made clear, Jesus is a man, or as is often said before: Jesus is a "true man." But at the same time Jesus, as also said before, "true God." Jesus was born in a stable in Bethlehem. Jesus was hanged on a cross at the of age 33 in Jerusalem. He was first bound and then they placed a crown of thorns on his head to torture him. He wore the crown the night he slept in prison. The day after he was picked up by Roman soliders to lift the cross to the highest mount. Then they put spikes in his hands and feet. He was hanging on the cross before he died and said: My God, my God! Why have you forsaken me? He was doomed to death by Pontus Pilatus. Jesus rose from the dead 3 days after crucifixion. Mark's Gospel ends with the Jesus' tomb being empty. 40 days after, Jesus walked on the mount he was hanged, so he could go up to God.
